The Denby Neighborhood Alliance is a grassroots project championed by Denby High School and community interest partners with a common goal - to rehabilitate and revitalize the community in and outside of Denby High School by implementing initiatives and programs that promote the economic, social and cultural development of the community. The Denby Neighborhood Alliance project has 4 goals: 1. To create safe routes to school by rehabilitating and demolishing abandoned properties in the school’s vicinity 2. To rehabilitate and redevelop Skinner Playfield into a multipurpose field used by both students and community members 3. To re-image Denby High School as a hub for community activism and reform, and to empower students to create and implement their visions for positive change 4. To create sustainable systems and structures in the community that promote the economic, social and cultural growth of Denby High School and its surrounding community The Denby Neighborhood Alliance will conduct its first meeting at Denby High School on April 17, 2013 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
